World Octopus Day Is October 8. Inky Has Been Preparing All Year.
October 8 is World Octopus Day, and frankly the octopus deserves it. Three hearts, blue blood, a brain that extends into its arms, and the ability to escape almost any enclosure - if any animal has earned a day, it is this one.
Our resident celebrant is, of course, Inky Dinky.
Eight legs, all business

Inky Dinky is the most tactile creature we make - eight individually articulated legs that bend, flex and wiggle independently, which means there is always something for your hands to do. She is a desk companion, a fidget, and a small daily reminder that the ocean's weirdest genius deserves a spot on your shelf.
Give her an ocean

For the full celebration, the Underwater Habitat Scene gives Inky a cave to lurk in - and octopuses are committed lurkers - plus coral, sand and a starfish colleague. Real octopuses decorate their dens with collected objects. Yours can too.
The rest of the reef
Inky shares her waters with the whole Aquatic Creatures collection - the full introductions are in Dive In: Meet the Aquatic Crew. October 8. Mark it. Inky already has.
